What we deliver
Twara Technologies builds mobile applications that organisations use to run their operations: apps for field engineers, inspectors, delivery staff, sales teams, store staff, healthcare workers and managers who approve and monitor work on the move. These apps replace paper forms, spreadsheets and phone calls with structured, timely data that flows straight into the systems the business already depends on.
Enterprise apps have different priorities from consumer apps. Reliability, security, integration and ease of administration matter more than novelty. We design with those priorities first, while still giving users an interface that is quick and pleasant enough that they actually adopt it.
Typical scope
- Task analysis with frontline users, including site visits or ride-alongs where practical.
- Role-based workflows: job lists, checklists, forms, photo and signature capture, approvals and reporting.
- Offline data storage, sync and conflict resolution.
- Integration with ERP, CRM, field service, HR, asset and document management systems.
- Single sign-on, multi-factor authentication and role-based permissions.
- Device features: scanning, camera, location, NFC, Bluetooth printers and sensors.
- Private distribution, device-management configuration and app configuration profiles.
- Admin dashboards for supervisors, often delivered alongside a web portal.
Technologies we work with
| Area | Options | When we tend to choose each |
|---|---|---|
| App framework | Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, React Native, .NET MAUI | Native for hardware-heavy or single-platform estates; cross-platform for mixed estates and faster parity. |
| Identity | Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, Keycloak with OpenID Connect | Whichever your organisation already uses for staff identity. |
| Device management | Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Workspace ONE, Google endpoint management | Matched to your existing estate; we configure the app to cooperate with it. |
| Offline data | SQLite, Room, Core Data, Realm, sync frameworks | Chosen for data volume, conflict complexity and platform choice. |
| Integration | REST and GraphQL APIs, message queues, iPaaS, vendor SDKs | Middleware where back-end systems should not be exposed directly to devices. |
| Scanning and peripherals | Platform camera APIs, ML Kit, vendor SDKs for rugged devices | Camera scanning for occasional use; dedicated hardware SDKs for high-volume scanning. |
How we approach it
- Observe the work. Understand the real task, its environment and its constraints: gloves, glare, noise, connectivity and time pressure.
- Map data and systems. Identify where each piece of information comes from and goes to, and agree integration methods with system owners.
- Prototype with users. Test the key flows with frontline staff on the devices they will use.
- Build in increments. Integrations and sync are built early, because they carry the most risk.
- Pilot. A controlled rollout to one team or site, with feedback loops and usage data.
- Roll out. Phased deployment through your device management, with training materials and support processes.
- Operate and improve. Monitoring, fixes and new workflows as the business changes.
Quality, security and performance
- Private distribution. Apple lists several private distribution routes for business apps: custom app distribution through Apple Business to partners, clients and employees; in-house distribution through mobile device management; and the Apple Developer Enterprise Program for in-house apps. On Android, organisations can publish private apps through managed Google Play and make them available through their EMM console.
- Mobile security. We test against the OWASP MASVS, with particular attention to secure local storage, authentication, network security and resilience on devices that may be lost or shared.
- API security. Back-end services are checked against the OWASP API Security Top 10 (2023), including object-level authorisation so that users only reach records they are entitled to.
- Employee personal data. Location tracking, photos and activity logs are personal data. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires reasonable security safeguards to prevent personal data breaches. We collect only what the purpose needs and make tracking visible to users, with policy confirmed by your HR and legal teams. These provisions are being brought into force in phases; our DPDP guide tracks the dates.
- Reliability. Idempotent sync, retry logic and monitoring of failed submissions, so failed submissions are detected and retried rather than silently lost.
- Usability in context. Large touch targets, high-contrast modes and minimal typing for outdoor and gloved use.
Engagement options
- Discovery and pilot. A focused engagement to prove the workflow, integrations and adoption with one team.
- Phased rollout programme. Expanding to more roles, sites and systems on a time and materials basis.
- Ongoing support. Monitoring, OS and device updates, user support escalation and enhancements via our support and maintenance service.
Describe the work your teams do in the field and we will suggest where a mobile app would help most.
