What we deliver
Twara Technologies designs and engineers native iOS applications for iPhone and iPad. We build consumer apps, customer companion apps for existing services, and internal tools for staff, all written in Swift and designed to behave the way Apple users expect.
A native approach makes most sense when the app depends on Apple-specific capabilities, needs the smoothest possible performance, or must adopt new operating-system features as soon as they ship. Where those factors matter less, we may recommend cross-platform development instead, and we will explain why.
Typical scope
- Product discovery: users, core journeys, monetisation model and the features that justify a native app.
- UX and UI design following Apple’s conventions, with an interactive prototype.
- App architecture, data model and offline behaviour.
- Integration with your back end, or a new one built by our mobile backend team.
- Platform features: notifications, widgets, deep links, Sign in with Apple, Apple Pay, in-app purchase, maps, camera and health data.
- Testing, beta distribution and App Store submission.
- Post-launch monitoring and updates for new iOS releases.
Technologies we work with
| Area | Options | When we tend to choose each |
|---|---|---|
| Language | Swift | The default for new iOS work. Objective-C only when maintaining older code. |
| UI framework | SwiftUI, UIKit | SwiftUI for new screens and multi-device layouts; UIKit where an existing app or a specialised control requires it. The two can be combined. |
| Data and persistence | SwiftData, Core Data, SQLite, Realm | Built-in frameworks for most apps; a cross-platform store when data logic is shared with Android. |
| Networking | URLSession with async/await, Apollo for GraphQL | Native networking for most REST APIs; a GraphQL client where the back end uses GraphQL. |
| Back-end services | Firebase, AWS Amplify, Supabase or a custom API | Managed services for fast starts; custom APIs for complex domains and integrations. |
| Testing and delivery | XCTest, Swift Testing, Xcode Cloud, Fastlane, GitHub Actions | Automated builds, tests and signing so releases are repeatable. |
| Monitoring | Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry | Crash reporting and performance monitoring after release. |
Apple describes SwiftUI as a declarative framework for building apps across all Apple platforms, which can be adopted incrementally alongside UIKit. That makes gradual modernisation of existing apps practical.
How we approach it
- Discover. Agree goals, audience, monetisation and success measures, and confirm that a native iOS app is the right vehicle.
- Design. Flows and prototypes based on Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, tested with representative users.
- Architect. Module structure, state management, data storage, offline strategy and API contracts.
- Build in increments. Regular TestFlight builds so you can use the app on your own devices throughout development.
- Test. Automated tests, device testing across screen sizes and iOS versions, accessibility checks and security testing.
- Submit. Store listing, privacy details and review notes prepared with you; see App Store launch and optimisation.
- Support. Monitoring, fixes and updates for each new iOS release.
Quality, security and performance
- Mobile security standard. We check apps against the OWASP Mobile Application Security Verification Standard (MASVS), whose control groups cover storage, cryptography, authentication, network communication, platform interaction, code quality, resilience and privacy.
- App Review readiness. Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines require apps that support account creation to also offer account deletion within the app, ask for demo account details when an app has a login, and require a privacy policy link both in App Store Connect and inside the app. We build these in from the start.
- Privacy disclosures. Apple requires developers to describe app privacy practices in App Store Connect, including those of third-party code in the app. We inventory every SDK so the disclosures are accurate.
- Personal data in India. Where the app processes personal data of people in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires verifiable parental consent before processing a child’s personal data, and defines a child as a person under eighteen. We design age and consent flows when your advisers confirm they apply. These provisions are being brought into force in phases; our DPDP guide tracks the dates.
- Performance. Profiling with Xcode Instruments for launch time, memory, battery and smooth scrolling on older supported devices.
- Accessibility. Support for VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, sufficient contrast and adequate touch targets, tested on device.
Engagement options
- Fixed-scope first release. A defined version 1.0 delivered to the App Store.
- Time and materials product development. Continuous development against a prioritised roadmap.
- Ongoing support. OS-compatibility updates, monitoring and enhancements via our support and maintenance service.
