What we deliver
A website is often the first place customers, candidates and partners form a view of your organisation, and because it is public and always reachable, it is also an obvious target for automated attacks. Twara Technologies keeps websites updated, secure, fast and accessible, with backups that work and content changes and fixes handled under an agreed plan. The result is a site that stays dependable without your staff having to become CMS administrators.
Typical scope
- Corporate and marketing websites on content management systems or static site generators.
- E-commerce stores, including payment gateway, shipping and tax integrations.
- Landing pages and microsites for campaigns.
- Hosting, DNS, SSL/TLS certificates, content delivery networks and email deliverability records.
- Forms, analytics and consent tools, and integrations with CRM and marketing platforms.
Technologies we work with
| Platform type | Examples | When it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Traditional CMS | WordPress, Drupal | Content-heavy sites edited by non-technical teams, with a large ecosystem of extensions. |
| E-commerce | WooCommerce, Magento Open Source, Shopify | Online stores of varying size and complexity; hosted platforms reduce server upkeep. |
| Headless CMS | Strapi, Contentful, Sanity | Sites built with modern front-end frameworks where content is delivered through APIs. |
| Static and hybrid | Astro, Next.js, Hugo | Fast, secure sites with fewer moving parts on the server. |
Platform behaviour shapes the maintenance plan. WordPress, for example, applies minor core updates, covering maintenance and security releases, automatically by default, whereas plugins and themes generally need to be updated deliberately. The hosting runtime matters too: PHP gives each release branch two years of active support and two further years of security fixes only, so server upgrades must be planned alongside CMS updates.
How we approach it
- Audit. Review the platform version, extensions, hosting, access accounts, backups, performance, accessibility and search basics. Abandoned or risky extensions are flagged.
- Stabilise. Fix urgent issues, set up a staging copy, establish off-server backups and add uptime and certificate monitoring.
- Maintain on a schedule. Apply updates on staging, test key pages and journeys, then release to production with a backup taken beforehand.
- Monitor. Watch uptime, errors, security alerts and performance, and act on what we find.
- Improve. Use periodic reports to recommend improvements, from removing unused plugins to redesigning slow templates.
Quality and security
- Performance measured properly. Google’s Core Web Vitals treat a page as good when, at the 75th percentile of visits, Largest Contentful Paint is 2.5 seconds or less, Interaction to Next Paint is 200 milliseconds or less and Cumulative Layout Shift is 0.1 or less. We track these and address regressions.
- Accessibility. We check pages against WCAG 2.2, the W3C Recommendation built on four principles: perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. Common fixes include text alternatives, colour contrast, keyboard access and form labels.
- Hardened access. Unique administrator accounts with multi-factor authentication, removal of former staff and vendor accounts, and limits on login attempts.
- Least software. Unused plugins and themes are removed, because inactive code can still be exploited.
- Recoverable. Backups are stored separately from the hosting server and restores are tested periodically.
What we need from you to start
- Administrator access to the CMS or platform, the hosting account and DNS, through accounts you own.
- A list of forms, integrations and third-party services the website depends on.
- Your brand guidelines and the people who approve content changes.
- Known issues, recent incidents and any planned campaigns or launches.
Even if some of this is missing, the initial audit is where we fill the gaps, including working with you to recover access to domains or hosting accounts that were registered by a previous supplier or a former employee.
Engagement options
- Essential plan: updates, backups, security monitoring and uptime checks.
- Extended plan: adds performance work, accessibility checks and a defined allowance for content and design changes.
- Managed web presence: Twara Technologies looks after hosting, the CMS, content operations and continuous improvement together.
- One-off audit or recovery: a health check, a clean-up after a compromise, or a platform upgrade.
