What we deliver
Twara Technologies sets up observability for applications and infrastructure, and carries out the performance engineering that turns those signals into faster, more reliable systems. Monitoring tells you when something is wrong; observability helps you understand why. Performance work then removes the causes, from inefficient database queries to oversized pages and under-provisioned services.
Typical scope
- Uptime and synthetic checks for websites, APIs and critical user journeys.
- Application performance monitoring and distributed tracing across services.
- Infrastructure and database metrics, centralised logs and log-based alerts.
- Real-user monitoring of page performance in browsers and mobile apps.
- Service level indicators and objectives, error budgets and reporting.
- Load, stress and soak testing ahead of launches, campaigns or seasonal peaks.
- Performance tuning of code, databases, caching layers and front ends.
Technologies we work with
| Area | Options | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Instrumentation | OpenTelemetry | A vendor-neutral CNCF project for traces, metrics and logs; our default where practical, so you are not tied to one back end. |
| Metrics and dashboards | Prometheus, Grafana | Strong for container and Kubernetes environments, with full control over data. |
| Logs | OpenSearch, Grafana Loki, cloud-native logging | Chosen according to volume, retention needs and search requirements. |
| Hosted observability | Datadog, New Relic, Elastic Observability | Less to run yourself, at a licence cost that scales with usage. |
| Cloud-native | Amazon CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring | Quick to adopt for workloads on a single provider. |
| Load testing | k6, Apache JMeter, Gatling, Locust | Selected according to protocol support, scripting language and your team’s preferences. |
How we approach it
- Define what good looks like. Agree the key user journeys and the indicators that describe their health, such as success rate and response time.
- Instrument. Add telemetry to applications and infrastructure. For services, we start with the four golden signals described in Google’s Site Reliability Engineering guidance: latency, traffic, errors and saturation.
- Visualise and alert. Build dashboards for different audiences and alerts based on symptoms users feel, linked to runbooks.
- Find bottlenecks. Use traces, profiles and load tests to locate where time and resources are spent.
- Fix and verify. Apply the highest-value improvements and confirm the gain with before-and-after measurements.
- Keep watching. Review alerts, objectives and trends periodically, and tune as the system evolves.
Front-end performance
For websites and web applications, we track Google’s Core Web Vitals. A page meets the “good” thresholds when, at the 75th percentile of visits, Largest Contentful Paint is within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint is within 200 milliseconds and Cumulative Layout Shift is 0.1 or less. Typical improvements include optimised images, reduced JavaScript, better caching and server-side rendering where it helps.
Quality and security
- Sensitive data stays out of telemetry. Logs and traces are configured to avoid capturing passwords, tokens and unnecessary personal data, and access to them is restricted.
- Retention by design. Retention periods are set to meet operational, contractual and regulatory needs. For organisations covered by CERT-In’s Directions of 28 April 2022, that includes keeping ICT system logs for a rolling 180 days within Indian jurisdiction.
- Safe testing. Load tests are scheduled and coordinated so they do not affect real users or trigger third-party rate limits unexpectedly.
- Evidence-based change. Tuning changes are tested and measured, and reverted if they do not deliver.
What we need from you to start
- The user journeys and services that matter most to your business.
- Access to environments, existing monitoring tools and recent incident history.
- Any performance targets already promised to customers or internal users.
- Expected traffic for upcoming launches, campaigns or seasonal peaks.
- A technical contact who can approve instrumentation changes and test windows.
Even a partial picture is enough to begin. The initial assessment builds a measured view of how the system behaves, and that understanding shapes the rest of the work.
Engagement options
- Observability set-up: design and implementation of monitoring, dashboards and alerting.
- Performance assessment: a focused investigation of a slow application with a prioritised fix list.
- Pre-launch readiness: load testing and tuning ahead of a launch or peak event.
- Ongoing monitoring: continuous oversight as part of application maintenance or managed cloud operations.
