What we deliver
Twara Technologies builds and extends e-commerce platforms for retailers, brands, distributors and manufacturers selling direct. Work ranges from launching a new storefront on a hosted platform to engineering a headless commerce architecture that serves a website, a mobile app and in-store screens from one catalogue.
Commerce is an operational system as much as a website. Our builds are designed around the full order lifecycle, from product data and pricing through payment, fulfilment, returns and reconciliation, so that the store does not create manual work behind the scenes.
Typical scope
- Catalogue design: categories, attributes, variants, bundles and search facets.
- Storefront design and development, including product listing, product detail, search, cart and checkout.
- Customer accounts, order history, wish lists and address books.
- Payments, taxes, shipping rates, delivery tracking and transactional email or SMS.
- Promotions, coupons and loyalty logic.
- Integration with ERP, warehouse, point-of-sale, accounting and logistics systems.
- Data migration from an existing platform, with a URL redirect plan.
- Analytics and conversion tracking set up with consent where required.
Technologies we work with
| Approach | Options | When it tends to fit |
|---|---|---|
| Hosted SaaS commerce | Shopify, BigCommerce | You want to launch quickly, keep maintenance low and stay close to standard retail flows. |
| Self-managed platforms | WooCommerce, Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce | You need deeper control over data, hosting and custom logic, and have or will retain technical support. |
| Headless commerce | Shopify or BigCommerce APIs, Medusa, commercetools, with a Next.js or Nuxt front end | You need a highly customised experience, several front ends, or performance beyond what themes allow. |
| Custom build | Laravel, Django, Node.js with PostgreSQL | Your pricing, ordering or fulfilment rules are unusual enough that platforms would fight you. |
| Search | Platform search, Algolia, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch | Larger catalogues where relevance, synonyms and facets drive sales. |
For payments, we integrate gateways such as Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, Stripe and PayPal using their hosted fields, redirects or software development kits, so that sensitive card data is captured by the provider rather than by your servers.
How we approach it
- Commercial discovery. Who buys, what they buy, how they pay and how orders are fulfilled today. We review your current store, analytics and operational pain points.
- Platform decision. A written comparison of two or three suitable approaches, with running costs, capabilities and risks.
- Information architecture and design. Category structure, navigation, product page layout and checkout flow, prototyped and tested before full build.
- Build and integrate. Storefront, platform configuration and integrations delivered in increments on a staging store with test payments.
- Data migration and SEO protection. Products, customers and orders migrated and validated; old URLs redirected.
- Launch. A cut-over plan covering DNS, payment switch from test to live mode, order monitoring and a rollback route.
- Optimise. After launch, we review funnel data with you and prioritise improvements.
Quality, security and performance
- Payment security. The PCI Data Security Standard applies to any organisation that stores, processes or transmits cardholder data, or that could affect the security of the cardholder data environment. We design stores so that card data is handled by the payment provider, which keeps your own systems out of as much of that scope as possible. Your acquirer or gateway confirms which validation you need.
- Personal data. Customer details are personal data. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a request for consent must be accompanied or preceded by a notice, and withdrawing consent must be comparable in ease to giving it. We build consent capture, notices, preference centres and account deletion accordingly, with legal requirements confirmed by your advisers. These provisions are being brought into force in phases; our DPDP guide tracks the dates.
- Application security. Reviews against the OWASP Top 10, rate limiting on login and checkout, bot protection and careful handling of admin access.
- Performance. Google’s Core Web Vitals treat a Largest Contentful Paint of 2.5 seconds or less as good, measured at the 75th percentile of page loads. We test product and category pages against these thresholds on mid-range mobile devices.
- Search protection. For replatforming, Google recommends server-side permanent redirects from old URLs to new ones. We build and test the redirect map before launch.
Engagement options
- Fixed-scope launch. A defined store build with an agreed launch date, suitable when the catalogue and integrations are well understood.
- Time and materials. For headless, B2B or custom builds where requirements will be refined as you go.
- Ongoing support and optimisation. Platform updates, extension management, monitoring and a steady stream of conversion improvements through our support and maintenance service.
